Using Guayadeque

Library

image22

The Library is the place where you can access all your music collection. This will be organized according to the tags applied to the files. The main Library frame is composed of smaller windows that function as filters: Search, Label, Genre, Artist, Album Artist, Composer, Album, Rating, Year and Play Count. You can have as many or as few opened as you like. From any of these windows you can drag-and-drop, double click, or choose a contextual action for the elements selected.

A track tagged with multiple artists (for example Artist 1 / Artist 2) lists one row per artist in the Artists panel, and shared albums show up under every credited artist without duplicating the album. Track lines display the joined artist names.

The songs lists' Select submenu selects the track's Album, Artist, Album Artist, Genre, Year or Composer in the library.

The Song views (Library, Tree and Playlists) support sorting by multiple columns: click further column headers to add them to the sort, each showing its sort priority beside the direction arrow. Sorting can be disabled per column back to the natural order.
They also lead with a Playlist indicator column: tracks currently in the Now Playing playlist show the play icon there. The icons update live as tracks are added to or removed from the playlist. Right-clicking a column header opens the Select Columns dialog, where columns can be shown, hidden or reordered.

Use the LEFT and RIGHT keys to scroll the grids horizontally.

Directories panel

The Directories panel shows the collection's directory tree (Sources -> collection -> Library -> Directories). Selecting a directory filters Genres, Artists, Albums and Songs to it, and restricts the library search to the selected directory. Right-clicking the collection node and choosing Update scans every directory below the root.

The Albums panel Options submenu sets the cover display (hidden, small, medium or large) and the sort order; the selections are saved per collection.

Use the Search Box to look for anything in your Library. Guayadeque will start searching as soon as you type... unless you have unchecked the "Instant text search" checkbox in Preferences. In this case the search starts when you use the keyboard Enter key after having typed your text.

If in Preferences you have Enqueue as Default Action then pressing Enter will enqueue the search results.

Otherwise you'll have "Play as Default Action" and Enter will start playing your search results. This functionality can be disabled unchecking the option "When searching, pressing enter queues the result".

NB marking the checkbox in the right end of the search bar allows a search ignoring accented characters, in other words, it removes the accents from both the search text and the songs data before compare them, so accented characters will match non accented characters (new in v0.7.3).
